While we know that every Mom loves flowers, we also know that Moms enjoy candy. Today we’ll create candy soaps to add to Mom’s bath and body gift set.

Get ready to be very creative. The sky is the limit and you know Mom is worth it. 

Chocolate and Almond Candy Soaps

You will need:
12 ounces of Creamy Coconut Soap Base
16 drops Chocolate fragrance oil
4 drops black liquid colorant
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
1 tablespoon finely ground almonds
4 cup Pyrex measuring cup
Metal spoon
Microwave (or double boiler)
fancy candy shaped molds*
gold foil candy cups*
empty candy box*

1. Slice soap into thin 1/8 inch strips for quick, easy melting.
2. Place soap into your measuring cups and microwave for approximately 45 seconds to 1 minute on high. The melting time will vary depending on the amount of soap. Remove and stir lightly. Continue to microwave at 15-second intervals until completely melted.
3. Add the cocoa powder, chocolate oil and black coloring.
4. Mix the soap as it cools until it becomes jelly-like. This helps to distribute the ground almonds evenly throughout the soap, rather than sinking to the bottom of the mold.
5. Pour the soap into the fancy candy shaped molds. Do not move the molds until the soap is set. Let the soap cool and harden completely before removing from the mold. The soap will pop out easily when completely set. For a fast set, allow the soap to cool for 1 minute then cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator until cooled.
6. Once your candy soaps are set, package in gold foil candy cups and place inside empty candy box.

Lavish Lollipop Soaps

You will need:
Creamsicle Melt and Pour Soap Recipe (print the recipe to use later)
Ingredients for Creamsicle Melt and Pour Soap Recipe
Sucker mold*
Sucker sticks*
Cellophane sucker bags*
Twist ties or ribbon*

Follow the Creamsicle Melt and Pour Soap Recipe until you are ready to mold the soaps.

Spoon or pour the melted soap into dry molds. If using a sucker mold, place sucker stick in place before pouring in the soap. Tap the mold gently to remove any entrapped air bubbles. Scrape excess soap away with a scraper. Do not move the molds until the soap is set. Let the soap cool and harden completely before removing from the mold. The soap will pop out easily when completely set. For a fast set, allow the soap to cool for 1 minute then cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator until cooled. To release the soap from the mold, invert the mold and flex or tap the back of the mold.

I know… Last year you waited until the last minute, stopped off at your favorite gas station in hopes that they would have a water-filled bucket with flowers in it waiting for you, and then back into the car in a mad dash to reach Mom. Let’s take a few minutes to think about Mom. You know Mom pretty well, or at least you should by now. You know the things that Mom likes and dislikes. We are going to use what we know about Mom to create a special home spa package just for her. Mom will be totally thrilled, wonder how on earth you accomplished such a thing, and have something she can totally brag to all the other Moms about. The phone lines will be ablaze on Mother’s Day for sure!

What is the one thing that you know Mom likes? My first guess would be… flowers! Moms love flowers and flowers Mom will get. However, let’s be creative here.

Mother’s Day Bath Bomb Bouquet

For this bath and body craft project, you will need:

1. Rose Petal Bath Bomb Recipe (print the recipe to use later)
2. Ingredients for Rose Petal Bath Bomb Recipe
3. plastic flower stems (buy fake flowers at Dollar Store, pop off flowers, and use stems)
4. rose shaped 3D soap or candle mold (if you can’t find a 3D mold, use what you can find)
5. Cellophane Sleeves or Wrapping (pick up at local craft shop, florist, or market)
6. ribbon or bow

Follow the Rose Petal Bath Bomb Recipe until you are ready to mold the bath bombs. With the bath bomb mixture ready, fill your mold and insert plastic flower stem. Depending on the type of mold you are using, you may need to wrap a rubber band around the mold to hold it together till the bath bomb sets.

Once you have made as many bath bomb flowers as you would like, wrap the flowers as you would if they came from a florist using the cellophane sleeve or wrapping. Finish your bath bomb bouquet with a big beautiful bow.

Mother’s Day Silky Soap Bouquet

For this bath and body craft project, you will need:

1. silk flowers
2. Cellophane Sleeves or Wrapping (pick up at local craft shop, florist, or market)
3. ribbon or bow
4. clothes hanger and clothes pins
5. 1 lb. Melt and Pour Soap (opaque)
6. 1 Tbls. Jojoba Oil
7. 1 tsp. Shea Butter
8. 1 tsp. grated beeswax
9. Fragrance (to match flowers)
10. no color or a very light pastel

Melt in a double boiler. Use a drink mixer to incorporate all the ingredients well. Allow soap mixture to cool for a few minutes, but not too much. Hold a single silk flower by the stem, dip it into the soap mixture. You may need to gently twirl the flower between finger and thumb so that the soap covers all of the flower petals. Pull the flower out of the soap mixture and hold above mixture allowing excess soap to drip off the flower. Again, you may want to gently twirl the flower between finger and thumb, but this time it will be to separate petals they may try to stick together.

Take your freshly dipped silk flower and attach it upside down to a clothes hanger using a clothes pin. Do not crowd the flowers or they may stick to each other. Allow the flowers to hang upside down until the soap sets.

Once you have made as many soap flowers as you would like, wrap the flowers as you would if they came from a florist using the cellophane sleeve or wrapping. Finish your silky soap bouquet with a big beautiful bow.
